The Problem

Month-end and year-end journal entries (reclassifications, accruals, reversals, consolidation adjustments) are drafted by accountants in natural language ("Reverse last month's bonus accrual, book current month at 5% of payroll") and manually converted into structured GL entries. This manual translation introduces errors: wrong GL accounts, missing cost centers, incorrect debit/credit sides. Accountants spend 15 to 30 min per complex JE drafting, and managers spend 10 to 15 min reviewing.
